To be completely honest, I was very shocked to see that I was waitlisted. To put it into perspective, I humbly had a near 4.5 GPA, 1430 SAT (710 Math, 720 English), top 10%, good essays, multiple leadership positions, sports ... idk about your chances specifically but UVA seems to be one of the few T14s so far to have started some level of WL movement (i've seen probably 3 or 4 WL acceptance posts on here and LSData) ... but by definition the odds are stacked …Waitlisted students can use this entry to talk and ask questions. Same here. My daughter waitlisted every school she applied except for one, her very last choice and now not even sure she wants to go there. Put a deposit down but hoping to get off of a waitlist at UVA. She was devastated when first deferred then waitlisted. I won’t quote all of her stats and extracurriculars, but she checked all the boxes.
I got waitlisted for my PhD program and got notified about the waitlist around Feb 1, I got off the waitlist early march and had an interview around the same time, got an offer letter from the department late march and now the grad school will be sending the official offer letter hopefully before April 15th, it just depends if your program does interviews or not, if they do interviews then it ...

The top of the list is Princeton, then we’ve got Duke, Notre Dame, UC San Diego, and University of Rochester.
